On a rain-soaked morning at a forgotten Welsh bus stop, a hostile teenager and a frail old war veteran share a few silent minutes that force the boy to finally see the man the world walked past. A short film about the heroes we pass without a second glance.

Submitter Statement

Some stories are told once and never leave you. This was mine.

When I was a boy, my father came home one grey, rain-soaked morning and told me about something he'd seen at a bus stop on his way to work. He had no camera on him, and he always regretted that he couldn't capture it, so he did the only thing he could and painted it for me in words. That picture lodged itself in my head and stayed there for most of my life.

I promised him that one day I'd turn it into something he could actually see. Priority Seat is me keeping that promise.

It's a small film about the people we pass without a second glance, the ones carrying whole histories behind a tired face. My father taught me to look twice. This film is what I saw when I finally did.
