Froze Bonds tells an authentic story of family connection as two brothers, Sam and Joe Negen, attempt the near impossible. To summit and ski five mountains in eighteen and a half hours. This story explores the intricacies of family bonds, natural beauty, and the interface between survival and awe.
Submitter Statement
In creating this documentary, we want to tell an authentic story of family connection, internal & external struggle, and love of the outdoors as the Negen brothers brave rugged conditions. For both Sam & Joe, their connection shines in the mountains and brings their story to life, creating a film about personal growth through skiing. Sam Negen and I created Frozen Bonds on a shoestring budget because we believe that no matter what challenges come our way, this story must be told. Our goal is to craft adventure documentaries that inspire athletes of all skill levels to create their own adventures in the mountains.
Sam is a professional adventure photographer, endurance athlete, and backcountry ski guide based out of Bozeman. His work explores how people move through and enjoy the mountains. Born and raised in Montana, Riley Sabo is an award-winning cinematographer & director. His passion for capturing raw, authentic narratives pushes him to bring stories to life through the lens.
