Between Two Words is a poetic about a daughter facing the absence of her father. Through shifting landscapes and quiet gestures, the film explores grief, memory, and resilience. Rooted in Iran yet speaking a universal emotional language, it invites the audience to feel more than to observe.
Submitter Statement
This film began with a feeling I could not name—a mixture of love, grief, and memory that stayed with me. I wanted to find a way to translate that feeling into images and silences. The story of a daughter and her absent father became the frame, but what really carries the film is the landscape itself—the mountains, the wind, the empty spaces that speak when words fail.
I believe cinema is not only about telling stories but also about creating spaces where audiences can feel something true. I worked with very limited means, but with an honest desire to let the film remain raw, poetic, and close to life.
My hope is that this small film, born in Iran, can resonate with people far beyond its borders..
