UNIFORMED

As an artist, I seek to create narratives that echo life. Within this pursuit, I felt the urgency to delve into the complex layers of the LGBTQIAPN+ experience, a journey that often unfolds in silence. "FArDADO" [Uniformed] was born from the desire to give an even stronger voice to this struggle, and I chose the military police as the setting for a specific reason: the uniform amplifies to an extreme the conflict between who we are on the inside and what the outside world demands of us. It ceases to be just a uniform and becomes a symbol of a mask, an armor, behind which many hide their essence and their pain.

I believe in art as a tool for social transformation, and my desire with this film has always been to create a mirror that reflects reality without filters, inviting the audience to feel Gustavo's anguish and humanity. My wish is that the film works as an open wound, one that prevents us from ignoring reality. The intention is not to offer answers, but rather connection and reflection. If this film can make a single person feel less alone in their battle, or cause another to begin to see and question the suffering experienced by many LGBTQIAPN+ people within the context of the military, then it will have fulfilled its most essential role.
