In the stillness of a desert roadside, a woman and her husband conceal their forbidden trade—selling alcohol—behind fragile walls of silence. But when an abandoned child enters their lives, their hidden world begins to unravel.
Submitter Statement
Mute is not only the story of an abandoned child, but also a reflection of a society trapped in silence, suffocation, and systemic corruption. As a filmmaker, my aim is not to provide answers, but to raise questions about survival, trust, and resilience under an oppressive system. This film embodies my personal vision as an independent filmmaker in Iran, creating cinema under restrictions yet with a persistent desire to tell human stories.
