Submitter Statement
As a director with a background in traditional filmmaking, I am always looking for new ways to tell timeless stories.
'Red Dot' is my debut film created entirely using artificial intelligence. It was crucial for me to use AI not as a gimmick, but as a tool to explore a deeply human theme—the masks we wear to protect those we love.
While modern AI tools are predominantly used for action, sci-fi, and spectacle, I deliberately chose to create a deeply intimate, chamber drama. I wanted to test if algorithms could convey genuine human empathy and the subtle tragedy of everyday family life.
Video generation technologies allowed me to create the dreamlike, slightly shifting atmosphere of childhood memories, where feelings are more important than photorealism. The red recording dot here is a metaphor for our attention. We only begin to see the truth about others when we truly focus on them.
Created using Kling and Suno, 'Red Dot' is a concise, 2-minute emotional journey.
