In sHEALed: Part 1 - Becoming, a mother follows her young daughter’s questions into a revealing, science-meets-story journey that reframes puberty and hormones, not as a “curse,” but as a readable, powerful biology.

When nine-year-old Love innocently asks what a “period” is, her mother, TereZa, turns a family moment into an investigation with sweeping stakes. Blending intimate, narrative vignettes, including a surreal “mirror” encounter between Love and her future self; sHEALed: Becoming connects the emotional reality of girlhood to the modern forces shaping women’s health. We examine ultra-processed food, endocrine disruptors, nutrient depletion, thyroid dysfunction, stress, and the quiet erosion of “normal.” Through candid conversations with leading physicians, scientists, and wellness experts, this film shows how hormones, cycles, and biomarkers such as blood sugar and nutrient status can be tools for clarity rather than confusion. The result is a hopeful, practical invitation for families to replace silence with literacy—and raise the next generation of women with a roadmap, not a mystery.

Submitter Statement

After producing a multi-part health documentary series and building a media organization with more than 30 journalists reporting full-time on health and science, Anthony Lolli and TereZa Hakobyan Lolli encountered a truth that remained unresolved. Women continued to experience chronic illness at disproportionate rates, often treated through models designed around male physiology.

sHEALed emerged from that realization.

The film focuses exclusively on female health, not as an offshoot of general medicine, but as its own scientific and human reality. Through documented experiences, expert insight, and longitudinal observation, sHEALed examines how systemic assumptions shape diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for women.

This documentary was created to record what has long been minimized. It approaches women’s health without ideology or sensationalism, centering clarity, accountability, and evolution. The goal is not alarm, but understanding. Not blame, but progress.

sHEALed exists because women’s biology deserves to be studied on its own terms, and their stories deserve to be preserved with precision and respect.

Most recently, they released Biohack Yourself, a five-part documentary series examining modern health and longevity through conversations with physicians, scientists, and thought leaders. The series blends investigative journalism with real-world case studies, reflecting their commitment to translating complex health concepts into meaningful human stories.

With sHEALed: Becoming, Anthony and TereZa turn their lens toward women’s health through an intimate mother-daughter narrative that opens into a broader exploration of puberty, hormones, and the modern environmental forces shaping girlhood. Grounded in emotional storytelling and informed by expert perspectives, sHEALed emphasizes literacy, agency, and curiosity, inviting families to replace silence with understanding.
