A previously unseen secret file was released in 2025. It revealed that the UK Government had started devising a plan since 1989, which dealt with the contingency of a large-scale exodus from Hong Kong. The planning group called this “The Armageddon Scenario”. The evacuation procedures involved the transport and settlement of Hong Kong refugees. The plan was never realized. This machinima work seeks to “reenact” this possible history of my home city.

Hui Wai-Keung was born in Hong Kong. He received his MFA from School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, and studied in Hong Kong Art School. Hui has exhibited locally and abroad, and he has participated in artist-in-residency programs that are held in Europe and Asia. Over the past few years, he has been working on video game and algorithmic art. Hui is now living in Taiwan, pursuing his PhD in Art Creation and Theory at the Tainan National University of the Arts. He is doing research on the practice of reenactment in contemporary art.
