•. 1984, BA in Short Story Writing from U.C. Berkeley.


•. 1984 collection of short stories, BENT ON KNOWING, won U.C. Berkeley's EISNER PRIZE for literature.


• 1987. asistant director, MONKEY SHINES, director George Romero.


• 1989 wrote, produced and directed SECOND SON, a 27 min short that won 12 awards, including Clerement Ferrand's GRAND PRIX.


•. 1990, MFA from USC's school of Cinema-Television.


• 1990-1992, Director of Development for Randall Kleiser Productions at Touchstone Pictures.


•. 1993, Incorporated ACAPPELLA PICTURES and opened the door at my own production company.


• 1997. produced Johnny Depp's directorial debut, THE BRAVE, starring Johhny Depp and Marlon Brando and was an official selection for Cannes film festival's 1997 competition.


•. 2004, producer, THE AVIATOR. Won a Golden Globe and Bafta.


•. 2012, wrote, produced and directed ADDICTION INCORPORATED, a NY Times "critics' pick" and won NIDA's (National Institute on Drug Abuse) Media Award for making science understandable to the public. (available on Amazon Prime and Youtube)


•. 2017, wrote, produced and directed "IMPRESSARIO", a 20 minute film that celebrates the artistry of world-famous dancers and the company that sponsors original ballets.
