A documentary that follows a severely disabled boy in need of advanced medical care and his mother wearing a ventilator as they take on the challenge of traveling to an uninhabited island without electricity. The preciousness of life quietly comes to light in time away from everyday life and social restrictions and living with nature. Then, they quietly ask the meaning of “to live.” The sound of the waves, the twinkling of the waves, the exchanged glances, and the smiles of the children deeply seep into the hearts of the viewers. They are by no means loud, but they look back at “life” as a definite presence through the journey of mother and child. An infinitely positive documentary film that captures the moment when a little bit of courage moves the world.

Submitter Statement

“Take a video of the tour going to an uninhabited island with children with disabilities” It all started when the traveler and writer Ayumu Takahashi called out to me. I had anticipated it. “It's going to be 3 irreplaceable days in my life, too.” However, it far surpassed those expectations. “I've never been to an uninhabited island, so it looks like fun.” When I participated in the tour briefing session with a relaxed feeling, “If a wheelchair is thrown out of a ship into the sea, it cannot be rescued” “If I call a doctor helicopter, how many minutes will it take to reach an uninhabited island?” There were a number of words involving life and death, etc., that really didn't seem like a tour. “A boy with a severe disability wearing a ventilator on an uninhabited island without electricity?” “Can I really go?” “Is it really safe?” “Why did you go that far and go to an uninhabited island?” At the same time that I had questions, I honestly felt uneasy. Also, this is my first time doing a documentary. I was in a hurry and started by buying a camera first. And the night before the tour, I was even more anxious, wondering, “Can I point my camera at an important trip that may only happen once in a lifetime for my family?” However, once the trip began, that anxiety was blown away in an instant. why? The answer is contained within this film. At one point, while shedding tears, there were times when I kept looking at the camera frantically. I definitely don't want to forget this scenery that only I have seen, this time, and this expression. From the moment I felt that way, this film was born. No one asked me to do this film. It is a work created with feelings that have sprung up within me. A film that wouldn't exist in this world if I hadn't created it myself. Being able to create such a film. It is an irreplaceable source of pride in my life. And if this film... If I could touch “Blue,” which surely exists in everyone's heart, As a creator, I couldn't be happier. I want to bring this film to as many people as possible. That too, to people all over the world. Thank you so much for your support. Noguchi Yuta
