Submitter Statement

Couples Therapy was supposed to be a simple writing exercise. Little did I know that I would end up loving the characters, decide to build a whole world around them, and actually give them life. With this story, I wanted to break the rules, the cliches, the tropes we're used to seeing. I love drama, I love romance, but I also love horror and bloody movies. What better way to have both in one film than to write a story about a lovely couple of serial killers? More than just dark humor, I want my characters to have depth, to be relatable, to be human. Which is why Couples Therapy is under work to become something more, something longer, and presenting this first look into this universe is a privilege for me today.

French writer and producer, Roxane Dupont studied Production in France and graduated with a Master's Degree. She then moved to Los Angeles to study screenwriting and development at UCLA. She produced numerous short films throughout the years and wrote several scripts - TV, feature, shorts (one in post-production and another in production), and now a web series. Couples Therapy is her first experience as a writer-director.
