How to cope with the “forever” when that lead us to an unwanted goodbye? How to keep the departed close without the anguish of a heavy heart? What will be left of us after our loved ones bid their final farewell? This short film opens up an old wound while trying to heal a new one. Can we live with both?

Submitter Statement

Paulo Alexandre Martins de Oliveira was born in Nampula, Mozambique. He graduated in Multimedia Engineering from the Instituto de Tecnologia Avançadas de Lisboa (ISTEC) in 2011, earned a master's degree in Cinema and Television from NOVA FCSH in 2016, and is currently a PhD candidate, since 2018, in the course of Performing Arts and Moving Image at the Faculty of Fine Arts (University of Lisbon/Faculty of Fine Arts). He obtained two postgraduate degrees: Audio and Video Production from NOVA FCSH in 2014 and Multimedia Engineering from ISCTE in 2013. He is certified by Apple in video editing with Final Cut Pro X, trained in Studio Lighting and Image Composition by the Portuguese Institute of Photography, and trained in video editing with Davinci Resolve. He is an assistant professor for the postgraduate course in audio and video production at NOVA FCSH. He published an article in the book "Enciclopédia de Terror Português" by Verbi Gratia and a fictional horror story in the book "Sangue Novo," an edition by Pedro Lucas Martins.
