Ama, a Puerto Rican musician, documents her journey and produces music along with her friend David, about the creative processes of chemotherapy while undergoing cancer treatment, AML leukemia. Highlighted is the inevitable connection between caregivers and patients with chronic illnesses and their ability to experience and produce music during treatment.

Submitter Statement
Ama is one of the most complete artists from Puerto Rico’s new musical generation. Educated in dance, singing, piano and Latin percussion with over 18 years of professional experience.
Rios co-leads her musical project Émina, a Caribbean project with electronic sounds produced and performed 100% by women.
Puerto Rican folklore being her base, she has excelled in the bomba genre and the urban genre as a singer, vocals, dancer, musical director and instructor.
David Marrero is a Puerto Rican musician, composer, producer, audio engineer, and emerging filmmaker.
Marrero has worked on international tours as a musician for Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Calle 13. He is the founder of oXLab Productions and collaborates locally with companies and artists in technical and artistic aspects.
David has received several Latin Grammy nominations as a producer for projects such as; "Baila Conmigo" (2018), "Esta es mi rumba" (2009), both by the Puerto Rican group Yubá Iré and as Co-producer of "Muchas Cosas Buenas" by Sie7e (2011) with whom he won a Latin Grammy. In addition, he won an Emmy Awards (2015) with "Aniversario Live" of the children's project Atención Atención.
