Rare Kind is an informative and emotional look into the lives of people diagnosed with a rare disease, who are often misunderstood by society due to a lack of empathy or skewed perceptions about disabilities that only affect a very small percentage of the world. This story journeys into the mental and physical battles of one particular rare, but painful, hip bone disease that affects young children and their families, in life-altering ways of a perceived childhood now lost. A different kind of walk in trauma, triumph, and trajectory, soaring into the birth of a life-changing refuge that helps them find joy within the pain. A true origin story down to the bone.

Submitter Statement

A film that is the first of its kind. A film that had to be made. True in its authenticity and bold in its creativity. For us, for them, for all that is rare. We can do so much, even with so little. A different kind of story with quiet storms and loud rainbows.
EARL COLE is a writer, director, producer, composer, artist, and innovator within the entertainment and media industries.
