A visual poem for those who refuse to yield to the madness of war, seeking to transform the state of things. Here and now. A memento against blind indifference, a reminder that innocence is the first casualty under the bombs. An experiment with the dream of becoming an anthology of visual poetry, embodied in a traveling audiovisual installation, using higher definition AI technologies coming in the near future.
Submitter Statement
Unfolding human complexity through visual stories.
Massimiliano Cosi is an Italian writer, film director and creative director.
Born in a small Southern Italian town, he was influenced early on by the deep canyon that crosses that land rich in history and inhabited since the Paleolithic period.
Then, the loss of his brother lead him to investigate the meaning of God and death, to the point of wanting to become a priest; after which, the study of history and philosophy lead him to the path of archaeology. However, after graduating in Classical Archeology in 2014, he understood that another passion was keeping him awake at night: understanding the laws that regulate relationships between human beings and observing them through the lens of the camera.
Thus, he decided that the moving image would become his future occupation.
Since 2011, he has worked as a freelance film director and creative director for Bloodynose, a production company he founded. Here he has directed commercials, music videos and designed multimedia installations, always making creativity and reduced budgets work together.
Some of his latest works were selected at international festivals and distributed throughout online platforms and national TV campaigns (Brooklyn Film Festival, Sky Arte, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Amazon Prime Video). His style is characterized by “pictorial” shots and a dreamlike narrative style, with an intense use of slow motion and wide-angle lenses.
