Submitter Statement

"Daisy" is a period drama film based on the true story of our Executive Producer, Writer, and Star, Cassidy Krygger’s great grandparents. Our goal with this short is to create a proof of concept for a feature film where we can further contribute to the ongoing dialogue on women in history and how their stories have shaped who we are today. We are passionate about telling diverse stories, with a number of our crew members identifying as queer. Additionally, we have cast and crew members who are living with disabilities such as Multiple Sclerosis, Endometriosis, and ADHD.

Alyssa has been involved in the Film and Television industry for 10+ years. After establishing herself as an Actor, she then turned her attention to Directing and enrolled in short courses with the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and with the Sundance institute as a member of their Collab program. She had her directing debut in 2022 with short film 'Fostered' where she received a number of nominations for 'Best First Time Director' as well as the film winning a number of awards for 'Best Thriller'. The success of this experience inspired her to create female led production company- Fitzcarraldo Pictures. Alyssa is passionate about creating content that explores the female experience and highlights the unique perspective of women.
